John Piper said once that God's word is sometimes not immediately relevent, but will take us to the edge of divinity(I think that's right). I tell the men that it can be like that, but that God will make it relevent to them.
Joe, I'm glad the material is helping. My studies with pastors at masters and doctoral level is revealing that extracting relevant theology is very difficult in some sections of the Bible. I trust your Bible study continues to flourish.
